The life of Durston House and the education of the boys are greatly enhanced by the variety and quality of the staff. The school is proud of those in its employ, both teaching and non-teaching, who reflect well the diversity of the whole Durston House community. Members of staff are drawn from all corners of the globe, from Iceland in the north to New Zealand in the south, from India in the east to California in the west. All staff are suitably qualified to undertake the tasks given them. They bring their unique experience, knowledge and skills to every aspect of school life. The highest professional standards are expected and much is given. This welcomed mix of culture and tradition, with general work or school experience ranging from long-term to ‘fresh out of the blocks’, adds depth, energy and colour to the educational formation of the boys at Durston. A diverse world opens up for them, and their opportunities for questioning and discovery are all the richer for it.
