Kevin Mahoney is a retired Chartered Surveyor with 35 years’ experience in commercial property, specialising in shopping centre development and asset management across Europe. Kevin is currently Chair of Actonians Association Sports Club and is responsible for delivering a wide range of community and affordable sport to over 1000 members. Kevin is also a Level 2 ECB Qualified Cricket coach and is lead coach responsible for delivering coaching programmes to local schools as well as club members. As a Trustee of the Gunnersbury Museum and Park Development Trust Kevin is actively involved in the delivery of a multi-million pound, Lottery Heritage funded redevelopment of a grade 2 listed building as well as the refurbishment of the park and its surrounds.

David is originally from Northern Ireland and has an Honours degree in music from University College of North Wales. He is a retired IAPS Head who was Deputy Headmaster at St Pauls’ Cathedral Choir School before going on to be Head at a number of independent prep schools including Newland House School in Twickenham in 2010. He was also Chief Executive at the Creative Education Corporation plc who operate a chain of nurseries throughout the country.

Dr Tom Girn is a Chartered Accountant and director of AP Benson management consultants. He specialises in corporate turnaround and finance. By background he is a mathematician and currently chairs the Oxford Foundation for Theoretical Neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence which funds research into mathematical modelling of brain function at Oxford University. He holds a DPhil. in early American history and has an ongoing research interest in the origins of the American Revolution (and latterly, the experience of Native Americans) as a Research Fellow within the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy, SOAS, University of London. He is a former Durston House parent of two boys.

Ms Julia Honigsberger retired in 2020 following a career as consulting director at Thorogood Associates, a global data analytics firm with its headquarters in West London. Former Durston Parent.
High Master of St Paul’s School
Sally-Anne Huang was educated at Bolton School prior to reading Classics and English at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford. She also has an MSc in Educational Leadership and Management and a Masters degree in Children’s Literature, which is a personal passion of hers. Sally-Anne is High Master of St Paul’s School and experienced in governance of both boarding and prep schools. Previously she was Headmistress of James Allen’s Girls’ School, and Kent College, Pembury, where she was also chair of the Methodist Independent Schools heads’ group for two years. Sally-Anne has been an elected officer of the Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference (HMC) since 2018 and was Chair during the academic year 2020/21. Her previous appointments have included Housemistress at Sevenoaks School, where she taught the International Baccalaureate, and Deputy Head at Roedean. Her professional interests include the importance of cultural diversity within schools and the power of performing arts in pupil experience. Married to Alexis, Sally-Anne has two adult sons and two dogs; her interests include young adult fiction, playing the saxophone and watching rugby.
Dr Richard Maloney
Headmaster of Uppingham School
Richard joined Uppingham as Headmaster in September 2016 after seven years as Headmaster and CEO of the St Bede’s School Trust in East Sussex. He grew up in London, attended Latymer Upper School, and went on to read Theology and Philosophy at the University of St Andrews. Whilst working as a teacher, he completed an MA and PhD at King’s College, London. He believes wholeheartedly that children benefit best from a rigorous all-round education. As a Governor of Durston House, I hope to add value so that the School continues to best prepare its pupils to enjoy success and fulfilment at their senior school and the world beyond.

Ben is a Surrey Prep School Head who, over the course of his career, he has worked in a variety of Prep and Secondary schools across Kent, Surrey and Sussex in pastoral and academic leadership. He serves as a Team Inspector for the ISI and sits on the Strategy Committee for IAPS in addition to the Steering Group for HMC(J).
